So, I am dissatisfied with existing GBA Zero projects, and so I'm blazing a new trail. Some ideas:
- planning on using the same chip from the powerboost 1000, but leaving off the boost converter since mintypi demonstrates that the zero will happily run straight off a lipo.
- pursuant to that, an attiny will be monitoring battery level and the power switch for a safe shutdown
- I also managed to find some new old stock edge drive rotary encoders that more or less match the volume dial oon the gba.
The attiny can monitor that and control volume up/down/mute
- with all my controls on usb, that frees up my gpio pins so I can use a dpi screen. No screen tearing
- I want to try fitting X and Y buttons in there. Not tactile switches, proper button pads. Not sure if there's room. Might go as far as to get them sla 3d printed so they will match the A and B buttons.
This will involve cutting up some silicone button membranes so I can fit them together.
Any feedback on my ideas?
