I'm really torn between buying one of those really small HDMI boards and using that flat flex HDMI cable, or waiting for kite's board which uses GPIO. The way that I want to lay out the Pi 3 alongside of those 2500mAh batteries might not let me plug anything into the HDMI port, but I'll see.

Here are some pictures of basic layout inside wiiu gamepad

To fit two 1860 batteries I have to gremel out top part of back cover and battery compartment.

Interesting, looks very clean! I might do it this way rather than mounting everything to the bottom half of the case like I had planned on.

Looks very clean, might attempt this build with that screen. Just need to sort out the other parts first.

What cable did you use for the HDMI?

Would be awesome if someone could design a PCB to handle this circuit. We could place the board right underneath the power button.

SMD or Through Hole parts?

I guess SMD would be nice but it's really up to you. There's limited space back there so I guess SMD to get it as compact as possible. A tactile switch should work fine. You could even have the switch mount to the opposite side of the board as the components.

The power button is the one on the left in this picture. Unless someone has an idea for what the "TV" button (right) could do, I think we could just ignore it.
