DaftMike's SNESpi

Post by ICMF » Tue Oct 03, 2017 9:02 pm

New project from DaftMike - a SNESpi. Actually, two SNESpi's, covering both console designs. Plus controllers. Plus Super Game Boys. Including functional cartridge readers, switches, eject buttons and cartridge flaps.

It's... impressive.

That is a nice build, the 3d prints are so good, the scale is really good, it is better then an official mini

Hopefully he doesn't cop out like he did halfway through the NES version with his kits.

True. Though apparently he's not going to do a kit for this one, because the NESpi was such a mess. Besides, apart from the case (and apparently he's releasing the files for them), the only 'special' component in his build is the vertical RFID antenna, and I suspect that won't be too hard to overcome.

I wonder if you'd be able to use something like this: https://www.adafruit.com/product/2460 with something like this: http://www.elechouse.com/elechouse/inde ... ts_id=2269 for an antenna solution.

Still waiting on the case files, though. And details of the antenna. :(
