SOUND REACTIVE LED STRIP

Post by Hoverfly » Thu Dec 08, 2016 3:28 am

Well, surfing the internet, i saw this pic:

as you can see, on the bottom it has a led strip that aparently reacts with the music. As this led strip:

I found the TIP31, a transistor that can do that without problem, but as i see, the persons who use it powers the leds with 12v, but in our Game Boys, we have a 5v voltage.

The question that i have is that this trassistor could work propely with 5v. Also, which is tha range of reaction of it? Is out there any other and better way for doing it?

I also want to post my DMG with the light buttons already done. It could be cool seeing them reacting with the music.

So, after searching it on internet, i found this article that might be helpful:

Thank you in advance.

PS: i would connect the transistor to the 3,5mm headphones jack, not to the speaker.
