Safety of steping up to 12v

Post by Patxiku » Wed Dec 28, 2016 8:11 am

Hi, since I broke my LCD controller doing the 5v conversion (variant 7), I was wondering if it'd be safe to user a step up module so I don't have to risk breaking another LCD controller with my newbie skills.
My step up module is this one,

Would it still work?

Sorry if it is an obvious question. :?
Thanks in advice.

That's a good question, i have been wandering that also... I think it can be made.
Probably this will consume more power from the battery tho...

A little late.
i found that very tiny step up module
https://www.pololu.com/product/2117

I'll try it today and report if it works well or not.

It's a loss of 10%, but 10% just for the screen is acceptable to me (better than burning a driver board once again)
