Wire for Game Boy Zero

Where and what does everyone use for wiring? I'm having a hard time wiring to the kitch=bent control board with what I have. The wires keep breaking. Thanks

Do they break in the middle of your wire? Or do they break at the end where you solder?

They are breaking at the end nearest the solder joint. But not the solder joint itself. I rewired it and now my question is I have 15 wires (r2,l2) and the wermy teensy file only has 12 specified. What keyboard letters would I map those to? Thanks.
