HELP! (Need help deciding :/)

Post by NEO » Thu May 25, 2017 6:59 pm

I am pretty new to the whole raspberry pi thing, and I only really have the time to make one handheld/project thing.
Do you guys thing it would be worth using a pi 3/2?
it can play alot more games, which is epic, but is quite a bit more expensive, as well as taking a bit longer.
if you think it would be worth it to be able to play the extra games, or not, then tell me your opinion in the comments.
Thanks!

most people go for Pi3 to be able to play later generation games (later than 16-bit) than a Pi 1/0 in reality the Pi 3 still can't play for instance N64 games very well, so you're only really gaining some PS and dreamcast games, making it almost not worth it anyway.

Yeah, i'd be interested to see an Orange pi build. I'll keep an eye out if you ever post your project!

I'd go with the Zero for the reasons already listed. It's nice and small to easily fit in the case, and runs everything up through SNES/GBA flawlessly.

I'm planning out a custom build with the idea of running N64 and PSX games and decided on using an Orange Pi PC rather than an RPi 3. If you really want those more advanced consoles, I'd look into it. The only thing is that there has been more testing, support and guidance for Raspberry while the Orange is a new kid on the block.
