Nice! Our first build looked a bit like that, but it was spilling out of a cardboard box (instead of the GBA shell).

Was modifying the screen’s controller board any different from wormys tutorial? If not, how did you get it to run off 5 volts?
Thanks.

I just removed the regulator ic and bridged the 2 input/output pads on the board.

hi i noticed you cut the mainboard cutting out the main green part so just had the pads either side, how did you wire either side?
i know it has something to do with the ground but how would you wire the a/b/r buttons to the otherside?
thanks for your help
also great build!! :D

Brett love the build! I am working on my own build and was really discouraged by the lack of space in the GBA. After seeing that you were able to get a 3.5" screen in I pushed on. Thanks for sharing your project! :)

I originally wanted to make an Advance, but I gave up. Does anyone make an AIO?

Ed Mandy has AIO kits , but I don't know when they'll become available again. He left on some kind of trip and hasn't updated his blog in a while.

Ah I saw his blog before he started selling them! Hopefully he gets them perfected. Price is a little high though.
