Game Pie Advance
Game Pie Advance
Thanks in part to data from sudomod.com, we've built up our first "Game Pie Advance."

It's a custom made PCB with a SPI LCD (but we've also tested a composite LCD).
More info may be available at http://www.gamepieadvance.com sometime.

Re: Game Pie Advance
Will you be making these boards available at any point as it would really tidy mine up that I just threw together??

Re: Game Pie Advance
Yeah. We plan to maybe toss some full built ones on eBay and then do some DIY kits to see what the reaction is.

Re: Game Pie Advance
Well, that's easy. The GBA only has 2 buttons on the front.SidSilver wrote:Good job !
Why only 2 buttons on the front ?
But, yes, we considered adding more. We decided to get something working ASAP and weren't sure how to best add X/Y to the PCB.
There is a header on the PCB that would easily allow a modder to wire up X/Y. We just weren't sure how we would even put buttons on the face of the GBA shell or get the rubber pads or any of that.
I'd love to hear suggestions on how to mod a GBA shell and our PCB to add buttons for a potential future revision.

Re: Game Pie Advance
I would be interested in one if you do. I added the x,y underneath the shoulder buttons with a couple tact switches just so I have them looked to tight to add them to the face .
Can you post some pics of a board with components on for us??

Re: Game Pie Advance
Count me in too for ordering these boards for GBA. I like it's size and screen quality. Are you going to provide the LCD (SPI) as well?
Love how it can display both on LCD and HDMI the same time.
Thanks
