Sega USB hub

Post by RhinoNigel » Sun Jan 22, 2017 8:28 pm

Hey just wanted to show you guys what I've been up to while I wait for kites saio board.

I'm only going to have two holes in the back, hdmi and a micro USB breakout board that will take the spot of the original USB cord. (I had to desolder the headphone jack for it to fit like this) This way I can have a safe shutdown and a power cut switch.

Mounted the pi by cutting one of wermys 3D mounts. Worked perfectly!

At first I tried to wire the hub to the USB pads on the bottom but for some reason the hub wouldn't work. I'm pretty sure i had the wiring correct and didn't see a short.

I yet have to integrate the fan, power switch, power cut, and USB breakout board.

Nice! I got one of these too, but haven't done anything with it except open it up and hold a pi to the insides. that hub is nasty, I'm pretty sure I can do better! (probably just extend the on board pi USB sockets down to the front)
