Baby's First Gameboy Zero

Post by thebonuslevel » Fri Jan 27, 2017 9:15 pm

Hi, so I figured I would document this stuff I am doing on here because no one in my day to day life cares.

Anywho, I decided to go with a Super Famicom themed build.

This is the general concept of what I was going for. I purchased a white GBA shell because having never seen on in real life it looked pretty grey and I would rather take a light grey over the brown tint on the DMG.

After it arrived I realized it was way too light. So I painted it. I still have to buff and do another coat, apply the logo and the start/select texts and clear coat it and buff it again but here it is next to its bigger brother with some imagination assistance in the form of some paper so you get the idea.

Also my work station is a disaster, I know.

Big thanks to Dominic and Helder for the goodies that are going in to this contraption. Oh and the Olsen Twins for their sacrifice.

I like the simplicity and cleanliness...and I wish my workstation looked that clean!

Yeah, I really like the looks of the SNES style buttons. If i actually start another build that is what it will look like.

@VeteranGamer: How does this work? You buy the paper and print them yourself? Something like those kids tattoos you can put on your skin?^^
I really would like to try this..

not that difficult, just make sure the surface is smooth that your applying it to....

1) buy the paper (make sure its the correct type for your printer)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-Sheets-A4-L ... euEz1xvDeg

2) design and print

3) apply some clear coat to seal in the ink, i used matt but any finish will do (MOST IMPORTANT PART)

4) cut the design / soak for about 1min and apply

5) sit back and marvel at your work

this is a good tuturial
