I had an old/broken snes. It had damage to front corner/underneath and didnt work so this was perfect to mod. The base has yellowing and if i was closer to the summer would retobright it but as there is little chance of sun couldnt wait!
Decided i wanted to be able to use original controllers again so wired up the front ports that than connect internally by usb so real snes pads work.
Added an on/off switch that safely shuts down the pi so have the option to shut down without pulling power or going through the menu.
Also added a reset button to the reset button of the snes just as its there.
And finally added an led power indicator so you can see if the pi is active.
mounted the pi at the back so can plug hdmi and power direct without needing extensions and added a usb hub to the side for all the usb bits needed to be added..
Other than the usb on the side my intention was for it to look as original as possible.
The cartridge slot has not been removed so you could put a game in to make it look more real.
Now its done I doubt i will use it, will stick it on the shelf for a bit, might end up sticking it on ebay see if I can get a silly price for it
Just did a youtube vid showing it in action beow.
