yeah, same here. saw it on one of /r/{Gameboy/Raspberry_Pi/Emulation/DIY} (can't remember which) but stunningly beautiful all the same. I'd subscribe to your channel, but I already have ;)

I actually did 4 years in engineering when i left school. was a daemon with the manual milling machine!!

Changed trades (into software) when i got made redundant, but im always thinking if i was still in the industry with access to the machinery, i would be able to make something awesome like this!! (dont have the money or the space for my own machines)
Get a small cheep LCD in your project https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=2312
Wrap it all round a battery https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2292
Or use a custom PCB to make it really small https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2512
or make it really really really really tiny!! https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2919

Have you got a hackspace near you? At mine (somakeit.org.uk) we've just purchased a lasercutter, have 3D printers galore, wood and metal lathes and are discussing the liklihood of a mill. And we're somewbere in the middle ground of well equipped amongst spaces.

Technically yes, however they have recently moved, and have lost all the machinery during the move!

Oh jeez. that's super not good :(

have they lost EVERYTHING?
We're decluttering, so I wonder if some of our stuff can be passed on

It does look that way. I have not actually been there yet, its not much of an advantage over my current share of the kitchen worktop for soldering duties really

im sure they would gladly accept anything that is going spare, but Stoke-on-Trent is a bit of a distance from you!!

I'm very curious about the black acrylic overlay. Does it dim the screen overall? I imagine it would obscure the quality in some manner, but how much?
