Games running slow after 4.1 update

Hey guys, I updated my Zero to 4.1 via the menu and after that I started to get slow down on snes and some nes games. So I did a clean install and its still doing the same thing, I also swapped SD cards and its still the same. Was something changed in 4.1 or did i not set something up right?

I also had quite a bunch of issues with 4.1 and even commited them all as bug reports. Unanswered so far.

Well, end of the story: I downgraded back to 4.0.2, that one is working perfect for me.

Is there an easy way to downgrade without reflashing a new image? I'd like to keep my settings if possible

4.1 working perfect and quick here, pi zero 1.2

any news on this? i'm also having terrible bad performance in all emulators... running 4.1 on pi zero with pwm audio, safeshutdown script running, controls on teensy, etc...
as someone asked is it possible to "downgrade" the version? otherwise transferring configs is easy? i already made a copy of config.txt but don't know other configs location (controls, etc...)
