Amp problems

Trying to get my amp working on my project but having no luck.

I have a Pi 2 and this amp: https://www.adafruit.com/product/1552

Have connected the left and right channels from the Pi to the amp and power from the Pi to the amp too. Not using a headphone jack yet. Tried the speaker on the left and right channels.

I get no sound at all from the speaker.
I then tried a different source to rule out the Pi being the problem but that didn't work either.
Tried setting audio output to "auto" and forcing output to 3.5mm jack but no luck.

Am I doing something wrong?
