[Solved] Gearbest screen not working with Pi3

Post by 6PATHS » Fri Feb 10, 2017 2:18 pm

HI all. So my gearbest screen is not displaying anything. I have a good image of retropie and it shows through HDMI. I also have bridged the VCC to the right pin (checked with multimeter) to power the display board from 5 volts. I've hooked up the composite wire to test pad 24 and the power and grounds to the micro usb test pads. The screen flickers once briefly upon power up but that's it. Any help guys? Here's some pictures.

In case anyone has the same problem I did where everything was hooked up correctly but was not getting a display, what I did to solve my problem was went to the recovery window and pressed 3 to switch it to composite. I figured if HDMI wasn't present, it would search for a composite connection. Apparently I was wrong. Anyways this solved my problem.
