RPi 3A - Happening!

So I've mentioned on Discord recently and a couple of times on the forum about the supposed Pi 3 A which was announced with the Compute Module 3 back when the Pi 3 was originally launched, but they said it was going to happen in 2016. well the CM3 happened, then the Zero W, then Eben says that there will be no new models for the foreseeable future... so the 3A is... Cancelled?

Why is this relevant? well the Pi3 is big... the Zero is not very powerful. a 3A would suit DMG mods massively. my original plan for my DMG was to use a Pi A+ but then the zero came out, which was faster (default 1.0GHz) more RAM (the A+ only had 256Mb) and even smaller. a no brainer if you will. but once they announced the plan for a 3A my thoughts returned to that form factor... and I've been waiting a while
people are saying the PiZW is a game changer, but I think the 3A will be that even moreso
