[SOLVED] Powerboost not fully working, please help

Post by n.marek » Sun Jan 15, 2017 6:29 pm

Hi, I started my build with 2 cheaper modules - one charging and one 3.7V to 5V stepup. But my LCD wasn't getting enough power from the battery so it was flickering, so I thought the stepup module is too cheap and bad.
So I ordered the Adafruit Powerboost. Wired it up, but I have no power from the battery.
When I plug my USB wall charger in it, it powers on (blue LED), it charges the battery (LEDs are on), it poweres the Pi, the switch works too - no problem.
But when I unplug it from the wall, leaving it to the battery only, it doesn't power up at all.
I have 3.7V 4000mAh battery. As I said, it worked with the old module. Any ideas? Maybe wrong wiring?

Thanks

OK, solved. Don't understand why it works like this only, but I tried the following:

Hi,

It feels like I am facing the same problem, I can't get the Blue LED light on when I connect the battery to the Powerboost.

When I plug only the usb wall charger without the battery, I have the Blue LED.
When I plug the battery AND the wall charger, I have the orange and green LEDs that light up (meaning it is charging, but at the same time finished with charging).

Your solution is to rewire the battery like you drew it, but I can't do that with this wiring diagram http://imgur.com/a/zhRWn

I will try their testing alternatives. Thanks.
If it doesn't work I will submit a detailled description.

Cheers.
