that damage is just the cap for the inductor. I have a pi with a similarly broken inductor. the important part is that the coil isn't damaged. the ferrite core might affect the inductance by a few picoHenrys but within the bounds of a few percent of it's rated inductance. and even if it were a problem it could be replaced easily enough... it looks like it's a 220uH inductor

You are correct! The damage is only on the cap and the coil is just fine, and the screen works great. I haven't tested it with a Pizero but hooking it up to my SNES and using a 5v power supply I saw no issues.
