I've updated the guide. I have determined that you need a diode and not just a jumper in the HDMI power adapter. Please read the guide thoroughly.

Thanks,

PRS
Hi PRS,
the label on my diode says IN4007 MIC, is this no good and I need to get the one specified in the guide?
Thanks
Cheers! :D

That would work.. but the DO-42 package is too big to fit under the cover. You need a DO-35 or smaller. I specced the 4148 because it is super common, but im going to test a schottky for lower forward voltage drop once they come in, but the 1n4148 worked fine for me.

I drove around like an idiot to find those diodes.. where I live there's no store that sells them, holy cow! it's so embarassing!
Luckly I got them from a friend, just 2.. unbelievable..
Cheers! :D

Will you open a thread with the build?

Unfortunately I took zero pictures. I started the project at midnight when I got home and never thought to detail the process. Honestly the guide Prerunnerseth posted is perfect. I'm trying to convince my boss to make one, so if he does, I'll make sure he takes pictures.

Glad everyone is having fun with this one. I was stuck in a hotel all last week and spent a bunch of time playing Super Mario World and Final Fantasy 2 on mine!
