Hello,
I am a Mac user and I was trying to edit the wpa_supplicant.conf file in the terminal window to put in my wifi and password but when I exit the sudo vi editor it tells me that the file is read only. When I type in ls -l to see the permissions the file reads "-rwxrwxrwx@" and the sharing and permissions on the file are read only from the "Get Info" window. How do I change the permissions on this file?
Thanks!

Hi,
Are you by chance using a microsd -> regular SD card adapter? If so is the write-lock switch toggled?

I didn't realize that's what the switch was for! Thanks, it worked!

Re: wpa_supplicant.conf file is read only
So I was able to edit the wpa_supplicant.conf file, but when I put the micro SD card in the raspberry pi, the image doesn't boot; just a constant white screen. I checked the files again on the sd card and the wpa_supplicant file is gone. I think the files have changed. It may be something with the boot file? Also, I changed the name of the card from boot to mintypi and it changed again to MINTYPI when I put the sd card back into my computer.
