Battery monitor isn't accurate

Post by YeeLarson » Tue Nov 07, 2017 6:09 pm

Hi, I just finished my MintyPi build, and the battery indicator in the top right corner never fluctuates from 100%. I'm using the new button PCB, old 3D printed parts, and the MicroLipo from Adafruit. Did I wire something wrong? Do I have to use the smaller, cheaper battery charger for the indicator to work?

Silly question but how much time have you put on the battery?

:!: I've left it charging overnight, used it for a few hours, and had the battery cut on me with no warning. The indicator never changed. Oh, and the first few times that's happened, I thought something was wrong internally, but when I plugged it in, the "low power" red LED on the MicroLipo would come on, until the battery was sufficiently charged. So I figure it's not a wiring problem.

Was the system on while you were charging it? Basically were you charging and playing? If yes then you need to restart the script and that's best done with a system restart.

I’ve had the same problem, I only charge it when it’s powered down though.

Yes, really better to switch off the device and charge while off.

Yes but that doesn't fix the battery symbol always being full. :-(
