games not showing up?

Post by stevepax » Wed Nov 22, 2017 11:01 am

I finished building the mintypi this morning. So proud. Sound works and everything.

I used filezilla to log in via sftp. Connected with no trouble. I navigated to /home/pi/retropi/roms/snes and i copied in a dozen or so ROM files that I got from a place that rhymes with [REDACTED]. :)

Files copied over just fine. I disconnected my filezilla, shut down my mintypi, started it back up, and it still says it has no games? I went back in with filezilla and verified that those files I copied over are indeed there in the snes folder. But nothing on the mintypi.

Any ideas?

Sorry, I had to redact the website that you said that rhyme because it was an actual ROM website. Rhyme or not, discussing and providing addresses to websites that provides illegal software is not allowed.

Thank you.

I figured out the problem, anyway. I hadn't extracted the files from the zip file. I'm a little embarrassed at how long it took me to catch that!

If you edit your emulation station system configuration file, you can tell emulators to use whatever extensions you want...
You can for example keep using zip or even 7z to save space.
