[SOLD] Pi3 SAIO #3 (Completed)

Post by dryja123 » Mon Oct 16, 2017 5:25 pm

As promised, I finally finished my Pi3 SAIO build and I'm now selling it completed. Now that it's completed I'm seeking $550 +$15 USPS priority expedited shipping and PayPal fees.

Here are the details on the completed unit:

Kite's SAIO v0.6c
Raspberry pi3
Black DMG case, cut by Kubino
Buttons, by Dead Pan Robot
6,000mah battery from Dextech
Premium veco speaker
32gb SD card
PSP1000 joystick
Decorative stickers from YaYa

Please see eBay listing for detailed photos. I can't get the rotation to correct on the thread
eBay listing found here: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 2891552081

If you want to make a deal on eBay I can modify the listing to best offer, just send me a PM.

Please PM me if you're interested in buying the GBZ. I've logged over 20 hours of game time and it plays great.

Yes, I know it's expensive and I appreciate that you not post if you don't agree with the price.

Hi everyone,

I'm putting up for sale my nearly complete Pi3 SAIO #3 build! I was so closed to being finished with it until the mintyPi consumed my interest.

Here's what's up for grabs:

Transparent blue case cut by Kubino! Case includes countersunk buttons and SAIO usb cut (makes it so you can use a standard micro usb cable to charge it.

VECO speaker. Very high quality and very hard to get.

Pi3 already cut, desoldered, Pi3 ext soldered, and verified functional.

Kite's SAIO from the #3 pre order

Pi3 ext accessories

Dual PSP1000 joysticks already fitted into the case

HoolyHoo's screen bracket

(SD card is not included)

You'll need to flash the arduino to the latest version for the SAIO to recognize the second joystick. The back of the case is already pre-cut and fits the Pi3. You'll need to figure out where you want to put your R1 R2 L1 L2 buttons. You need to modify the A B X Y buttons so they sit at the proper height.

I'm looking for $300 PayPal friends and family shipped within the continental U.S. only. This is for serious buyers only who have the technical skill to finish this build. This is sold as is and no refunds will be given. I'll send the package priority mail free of charge. Please send me a PM if you're interested.

Please, keep your comments to yourselves if you do not agree with the price.

I'm happy to answer any questions!

Here's what you've been waiting for, the photos:

Being Santa's elf by building mintyPi's for holiday gifts! I may work on finishing this GBZ but I'd rather dedicate my free time on projects that I'm passionate about. I just lost the passion on completing this build because I was unable to resolve the button height with HoolyHoo's screen bracket. Tried a few things to raise the buttons but couldn't get them to feel the way I wanted them to.

To potential buyers, I'm willing to send pictures and video to prove functionality. The only thing you need to do is figure out the buttons, wire up the joysticks, add the L1 L2 R1 R2 buttons to the back of the case, and assemble.

I know $300 is steep but I've already done all of the hard work for you. The Pi3 is already desoldered, cut, and fully functional.

I saw many people talking of button height but i don’t have this problem...
Maybe a (lucky) good combination from rubber / buttons (all bought from DeadPanRobot)

Yeah, HoolyHoo called this out on his sale thread and said he used 1mm of silicone to resolve the issue. I haven't been able to get it cut right to fit inside the button without it falling out inside the case. I tried cutting glue sticks thinly but that didn't work as well. Once I started to get frustrated I shelved the build. I didn't want to solder the joysticks to the board and have to remove the board to resolve the button height problem. Repurposing my frustration on other projects lol

Edit: BTW, thank you for posting the templates for the stickers.... Not sure if you noticed that I used your sticker templates for the back of the case.

Yes i saw them. I have no problem from you using them as your are involved in the community.
I would be more stressed out if a newcomer, that had never helped, nor never thanked me, used the design, and put a build to sale lol

I almost completely forgot to thank you because this was going to be my personal build, originally i didn't intend to sell it. Plus I bought 3 sets of stickers from you

On my 2 hour drive home from work I convinced myself to finish the build with a new case and only one joystick. Just a heads up to all interested, if I don't sell this before I finish it the price will go up. Anyone who knows me knows I don't do hack work and you're getting a good quality product. If you're interested in this and really want me to finish the build I'll finish it and charge you a fair price. Please PM to negotiate.

What type of buttons were you using? I never ran into this issue before and I'm using HoolyHoo bracket. If this help I used the XY buttons from Deadpan robot and they work great! No issue at all.

Hey, we actually chatted about this on discord lol. What ever DMG buttons that came with the case are the ones I'm using. I sent you another DM the other day. Send a response when you get a min.
