Hi guys
Need some help here...
I've built my hardware, and I'm ready to load rooms and test/play.
I watched some youtube videos and in those videos, they put in the SD card into the PC and there sat a few folders, full of pre-installed emulators that worked with with the pi, and it was a simply matter of dropping in rows, restarting emulation station, and voila
So I put my SD card in the pc ready to do this. I'm missing those critical folders.
So, is there something wrong with the image I burned (which is the kite image on the setup GitHub), or because its a specialized bistro of ES for the CS hardware, there is more work involved on the software side ie getting/installing emulators etc... because I'm a noob for this side of things and don't know the next steps.
Thanks,
David
HELP!! no emulators on my image? what do i do?!
Re: HELP!! no emulators on my image? what do i do?!
You can’t just put the sd card in your pc, Linux on the pi and windows on the pc use a different file structure - your pc can’t see the folders.
Connect your pi to your WiFi, and your pc to the same WiFi. With both switched on open the file browser on your pc and in the address bar type //RETROPIE and all of your folders should be there for you to transfer stuff to and fro.

I haven't ever been able to get this method to work.millski wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2020 10:19 amYou can’t just put the sd card in your pc, Linux on the pi and windows on the pc use a different file structure - your pc can’t see the folders.

It’s how I always transfer files. I made a bit of a mistake in my earlier post though - it should be \\RETROPIE in the file browser address bar on a windows pc. smb://retropie is for Mac (I use both).
