I see, then I will keep using the original one. Following wermy s guide I have ground hooked up too, could I connect the two grounds together?

Yes I'm a doing a build. So far I have got the screen working, modded the case and now I'm starting the wiering. Still waiting for the teensy board to arrive. Really looking forward to finish this project. Thanks a lot for helping me out it's very appreciated

Ground hooked up to what? You can share ground though yes. For example, L&R buttons as per Wermys guide.

Nice work on the build, be good to see some pics in 'Show off corner' of how you're progressing.
