no probs.....

what rings alarm bells is that like the screens 1UP uses, mine also has a complete metal back to the screen and the ribbon cable should also be fix to it (no sure what with, maybe some sort of glue or DS tape)

this screen has the ribbon cable hanging at the edge and the metal housing doesnt completely cover the back....

reminds me a little of the spi screens

its a kedei.... :o

this isnt looking good for you guys.... :(

it could be a case where kedei are starting to cut costs, and the screen was the first to be replaced....

you might have a screen that may not be useable in a Gameboy project.....

its now a gamble trying to source another from china, as you might end up with the same....

yes it is a gamble..

but it is usable just need a bit more work to the case, i.e. sanding down the sides to fit the screen. tricky but can be done.

My (KeDei) screen didn't fit either. I had to trim most the plastic on the screen, 6mm from the board, and a mm or 2 from each side of the DMG case. But it's in and the bracket covers all of the trimming. I hope to receive another hdmi screen that is ips soon to see how well it fits.

these are most probably a newer batch....

the previous kedei screen didnt need anything done they just fitted into the case/shell....

What gets me is that they haven't changed the version number on them. I mean, I understand the PCB is probably the same, but a different screen should be enough to bump the version to 1.2.

my board has the same version as yours.

Anyway almost done with sanding my black case...problem now is that all my builds have 6 buttons on the front, all the buttons PCBs I have have 6 buttons already in place. Now I need to do some measurements in order to drill 2 extra holes on the front...what a pain...
