GBZ #5
Finished my 5th gbz. This one is using helders 2.2 AIO board. Bought from a friend who never used it. Gearbest screen, hoolyhoos screen bracket, banggood powerboost, 3200 mah Samsung note battery, 3d printed l/r button bracket, screen cover from handheld legend, sd card in contrast port, charger above the headphones, safe shutdown button on the top, green led to show fully charged in the old charge port.

You would think with an AIO you'd have less mess. I guess not...

Re: GBZ #5
I really like the shoulder buttons so far, they feel quite comfortable. But it does take up a lot of space. I've got to open it up again to adjust buttons a bit and double check the wiring for the battery monitor. So I can take some internal pics them. But, it is mostly messy with wires!!

Re: GBZ #5
we like seeing messy cables
this is part of the DIY process hahaha.
I've noticed that the X/Y holes are a bit loose
Those are really hard to make good. Mine are loose also because the buttons are 11.8mm and my step drill was conical and going from 10 to 12... The buttons are flabby and are not very comfortable to play. I've ordered a CNC cut case from Kubino to make my build perfect.

Re: GBZ #5
Also did you try to hand sand the button support with some 200/400/800/1200 sand paper with water ? this will gives you a soft feeling on the 3D printed plastic

Re: GBZ #5
Have not tried that before. Thanks for the tip! I also like the idea of the pre cut cases from kubino, they look very nice, but I can justify the cost when I have multiple empty cases sitting here...

Re: GBZ #5
I know for sure that i will end-up like you, building a half dozen GBZs... Thanks to the Chinese, i have so many unused parts
You need 2 of something, they sell it by packs of 100
I have a dremel and started to take a look to how to build a 2 axis CNC machine as i have other projects that will need CNC cutting.
I have contacted people with 3DHubs for milling my parts for the other projects but the cost is just freezing me so it will be cheaper for me to invest in DIY machine and cut the prototypes at home
I just need to convince my beloved half to buy one, among the 3D printer, the soldering station, the laser cut machine, the 3D scanner
I'll ask and give her a rope at the same time so she will be able to hang me
