Re: DirtyBeagles Build/Progress
Hi dirtybeagles. I have the same screen as you...Did you move the white wire to the blacks position on the screen board? I'm going to have a crack at mine now

Re: DirtyBeagles Build/Progress
Nope. I literally just connected the cables to the pi zero and it worked. I did not have to modify any connections on the board. This was a 5 minute install because it was that simple. 10/10 on the screen installation. Let me know if you have questions.Robots86 wrote:Hi dirtybeagles. Re: DirtyBeagles Build/Progress
Yeah, I was like, "come on... this cannot be that easy". Anyways, happy that you got it working. We need to find the model number to this item or some way to identify it so we can find a different seller besides amazon.com.Robots86 wrote:well that was easy. worked straight out of the box. i ordered the same model from the same supplier but it had a different board. I am up for ideas if anyone finds a way.

Hey DB,
I have the same screen as you and my board is stuck to the back of the screen.
I think its just glues to it but I'm afraid of messing up my screen.
How did you separate the board from the back of the screen?
Thanks!

There is a small screw under the white sticker on the back.MacBean wrote:Hey DB,

Sorry, I think you misunderstood me.
I have the screen and control board completely removed from the housing.
The control board is stuck to the back of the screen with glue or something.
I was wondering how you separated it.
Does that make more sense?

Yes, I just pulled them apart with my hands. Nothing special.MacBean wrote:Sorry, I think you misunderstood me.

The technical term for what you're explaining is either a conical hole, or easier to remember is a countersink.dirtybeagles wrote:When you say bezel, I believe you mean the little angled cut...Spruc3Moose wrote:@DirtyBeagles what did you use to make your buttons hole bezel?
I am super excited for my screen, seeing how easy it was done. Now it's just a fight locating my rpi0.

Re: DirtyBeagles Build/Progress
I think I am going to skip a head just a bit and try out the battery connections. At least then I can how my m8s how awesome I am when I whip this bad boy out.
I was also going to look at connecting the controls to the pi0 so if anyone has a n00b friendly guide they could shoot my way that would be great. Not sure how to connect the teensy up to the pi0 so it recognizes my inputs. Right now, I have to plug the teensy up to a USB hub to get the inputs.
