I am using PI 3 EXT board from Kite to connect the Pi 3. I am using Pi zero instead. It came with 8 pins cable I used only 6 since the Pi Zero has only 6 SD points.

Maybe @Kite can chime in here...what else do I need to solder or check?

So when i connected to SD card directly to the PI the image for retro pi appeared, when i connected it to the AIO board it did not, Also the green led on the raspberry Pi is not blinking when i have SD connected to AIO board. Thanks for the help, I have enclosed some photos
Are you using Kite's SAIO image? If so, you will not get an image from HDMI unless you comment out all of the DPI screen settings in the SAIO config file.

Kite and community,

Apologies if this is noted elsewhere in the 158 pages... The switch that comes in the latest kit is a different ship that documented in the github build thread. Is there an update picture or diagram for soldering the latest switch and any modifications needed to fit correctly? Thanks

Hi all, I need your help please.

I messed up in the first step of the build the SAIO. I could cry.

When I soldered the Pi to the SAIO Board, I had not noticed that the Pi lift up on the right side.
Now I have absolute no connection to the Pi, no power on, nothing.

Is there a possibility to desolder the Pi from the board? Is it safe to use a heat gun?

What can i do?

Thank you!

Viacard,
1) did you test the Pi after cutting it ? if yes, was it booting ? just to be sure that the cutting didn't break something.
2) the raised part is the 3.3V and VCC so they are very important pads. Did you try to see if you have continuity between those pads ?
from front to behind, and from front to other 3.3V pads on the board, and from behind to other 3.3V on the board ?

For now, do not attempt to desolder the Pi, you will likely kill everything.

Try to power directly the pi and plug the HDMI to it to see if it's actually booting by itself and let us know.

What is your concern about the switch ?
you solder one wire to the most right of the switch (pins up, switch looking north) and the other wire to the middle pin.
You solder nothing to the left pin.
