Nice! Seems like you have to switch the JST connector when you want to have the powerbank vs the normal battery though? Wonder if you can get both JST's to hook up to that single port on the powerboost through a hub so you don't need to take it apart before you go on a plane trip.

I'd love to bring my GBZ on a flight, but I've seen a friend with a pelicase full of camera equipment and batteries getting searched on nearly every single security check. I really don't want to take apart my GBZ because some security guy doesn't understand what he is seeing on the x-ray. And that would be the better case, the worse would be if I have to leave it behind... 3 weeks of work...
I'm not risking it.

I'm still have parts coming in but am debating if I should just go 3 x AA NiMhs with a powerboost basic instead of a lipo battery. If I went AA, I would put a SPDT before the powerboost so I could have the option of using a powerbank.

agree with you, that would be 'safer' I guess, was thinking something similar.
But would the 3 AAs be enough in terms of durability ? coz if it's to end up playing 30min before recharging these batteries...

This only applies to those traveling within the US, but I think we should be good. A 5000 mah battery is only 18.5 WHr and up to 100 WHr is permitted.

I just took my GBZ on a domestic US flight and had no problems. I left it in my carryon bag that went through the x-ray machine, TSA did not ask to see it or anything like that.

What does your build entail? Did you go the full on wermy route or did you streamline it more with an all in one?

I am using Helder's AIO, haven't had a chance to make a post about my build yet.

Awesome. Now we know that slimmed down designs won't trip the TSA's "homemade bomb" senses. I think wermy's original build still might since it's very homemade with wires and stuff everywhere.
