There are indeed 4 wires. The yellow is composite video. The 2 blacks go to ground. One on my powerboost and the other to composite ground. You are using a composite cable so you do not need 2 grounds. The grounds are already tied together.

The red is 5v to the side of the resistor. You also need to connect the 2 pins on the regulator as in my picture. But again be careful.

I don't see why I would need to connect everything to test it ? I could be wrong
