Low Pass Filter

Post by PitchForkNinja » Tue Apr 25, 2017 5:26 pm

I have been looking into building the GBZ, but I have been doing some research before I start. I understand most of the guide, but I am really confused on how to make the low pass filter. I have tried looking at wermy's guidehttp://www.sudomod.com/game-boy-zero-guide-part-5/, Adafruit's guide https://learn.adafruit.com/adding-basic ... o?view=all, and SP33's guide viewtopic.php?f=22&t=480but I don't know that much about electronics and am even more confused. Why does wermy's prototyping board have the angles/curves, when other ones don't? Anyone with an explanation?

You can use any style of prototype board, Wermy likely just happened to use one like that, I personally used a strip board, as long as you follow the diagram in SP33's guide you will be fine. Or like posted in the other thread you commented in, just buy the Kitchbent one.

The other option, is to skip the low pass filter all together, which I have done in my most recent build, and the audio seems fine. Or try USB audio, I haven't done that, but i've heard it sounds much better than PWM audio.

Easy way is to purchase some boards I made available on OSHPark for like $3

Don't contact me about obtaining my board files (as you will not get them). If my Boards or PCB Kits are sold out, they will be restocked as soon as I can get them and there is demand for them. You can join the mailing list on my Website to be notified when they are available.
