Hi everyone
So i am new to the forum and to the modding seen, I am looking at trying to build a Gameboy Zero like many others and with the all in one boards being sold out i am looking at using the following parts. I would greatly appreciate any advice and info if i have missed anything out.
Using this screen (which i know may only just fit) can i connect it to the Pi via HDMI and then take audio from the screen PCB?

Any help or tips would be lovely, when i build the GB zero i will include pictures and info on build
Thank you in advance

No mention of USB audio here so assuming you're going with PWM. That's cool but without an AIO board with a built in filter id recommend one.

Re: Parts list for new build - Would you change anything?
My build is just starting but I'll attach my spreadsheet I made for costs. My friend and I are building ours together, so he'll be borrowing the extra parts I'll have left over. If you order parts like I did, the second build is roughly half the cost of the first one...basically just buying the PCBs and case. All my costs below are in USD and include shipping as well. Anything labeled (Surplus) means I acquired them for free from junked items or were just so common I had them lying around.
I used a Leonardo Pro Micro instead of the Teensy for cost...they seem to have an identical physical set up. I went with the Pi0 W for convenience and it was available for scarcely more than I could acquire the standard model. I'm wondering why you went with a touch screen display; I've been watching them as well, especially the ones that fit directly on the GPIO pins, but I wonder how limiting that will be in the future. "Other Items" is a bit ambiguous but it looks like you and I are going a similar route, aside from my Safe shutdown being DIY.

Re: Parts list for new build - Would you change anything?
Screen wise I Picked that as it can go up 1920x1080 it's native is 480x320, also i can see it has a headphone jack so I was hoping if I connect the Pi via HDMI I could take sound from the screen maybe. I do know it's super large and would be crazy hard to fit but I have read a lot of people say text menus are hard to read on some screens.
