Battery Recommendations

Post by oliddell » Thu Apr 27, 2017 10:50 am

Hi guys first post here goes, just ordered all my parts except the battery for my first GBZ project. I am using power supply by banggood with a safe shutdown board. I also have Helders aio on the way too. Can anyone recommend a battery which will fit in the compartment without modifications, and also a supplier who doesn't charge an arm and a leg for delivery (i live in Malta which is part of the EU), side note are the batteries from hong kong reliable?

Links would really be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

If you want it to fit in there I believe a galaxy s2 extended battery will fit. Get it from a decent supplier. I believe they have about 3800mah.

I'm about 95% sure you're right on the s2 extended battery size, although I believe the s3 battery is about the same size and probably even easier to source.

I'm using galaxy note II on my latest build.
It fits rather tight on the battery compartment, mostly the width.
But if you are going to dremel the battery compartment, then it should be fine.
Mine came as 4300mah.

Welcome to the community!

I bought this battery,
http://www.mbuynow.com/4800mah-replacem ... p-843.html
Which I believe hoolyhoo used in his build, (Also available on amazon UK). I also bought this set pins from aliexpress,
http://s.aliexpress.com/RRRvEbM7
Not sure if they'll fit, but they look similar lol.

Here's the link to hoolyhoo's build thread

Thanks for the response, I was not really looking at cell phone batteries, how would I go wiring it up to the banggood powersupply?

All the phone batteries I have messed with clearly label the + and -. I am pretty sure the s3 battery extended or otherwise will not fit in the battery compartment. I will check tonight and update this if it does fit.
