Shoulder button ideas

Post by Roller Toaster » Thu Jun 08, 2017 10:29 pm

I was trying to come up with a concept where the shoulder buttons are able to pop out of the back of the GB case. I like the idea of being able to hold them like the trigger buttons on a modern controller, and being able to push "down" instead of pushing up and towards the case to trigger them.

I had two ideas:
  • Some sort of click mechanism like a ballpoint pen, which would allow you to pop the buttons in and out of the case to use them. The only problem is that I can't think of a nice way to implement this without it taking up too much internal space or looking hideous.
  • A locking hinge that snaps to one of two positions, and rotates some square buttons(not exactly these but the same idea) out of a flush position into a more comfortable-to-hold position. Much like the first idea, this would take up a lot of internal space. Also with this idea I don't know how someone would rotate the buttons into position aside from having some sort of turnkey on the side of the device, which may be in a bad spot to hold the gbz.
If anyone has creative shoulder button ideas, I'd love if you shared them!

You've already mentioned this in another post....

There's no need to double post the exact same thing....

Especially on posts that are over 6 months old....

Thanks and sorry about that. Also didn't know they were that bad guess I will keep looking or just go with a 6 button front build.
