Screen Surround

Post by dominator » Sun May 29, 2016 8:24 am

(you can order a screen at http://www.retrofresh.uk, Cheers, Dom)
Hi,
I have been working on a screen surround:

I printed one out, but it is too dark (still looks good though). I plan to print it on a clear sticker, with the grey behind (so it goes behind the glass). Hopefully it will look good.
I was trying to think of a good slogan and for now I like 'modified with raspberry pi'.

And a quick mock-up in paint:

Cheers,
Dom.

Oh hey, that is a great idea to just glue something over instead of trying to paint the actual screen cover.

I forgot to mention, I had also cut one out of black sticker vinyl to go on the back of the glass (that is why it is cut reversed)

Nice ! :o
You should sell a sticker package with the screen border and the cartridge label ! ;)
I would buy one !

I have one question : if you put a sticker like this, the screen will be glued on it, right ?
If the sticker and the glue are not strong enough, the screen may come off, doesn't it ?

This is an awesome idea! The gray border instantly makes it look twice as good. :D

Did you cut that out by hand? It really looks quite accurate.

no, it was not cut by hand. The printer I use has a print and cut feature.

Maybe it won't stick as well, if it really fails, then I will use another sticker to mask the center and then paint the surround.

Oh thanks. Would you perhaps offer to sell me one of those if i send you the needed files and paths?
I used nail polish to paint the screen, but that looks not as good as if one used a cutter.
