Great - looking forward to getting my hands on it. It should be possible to change the tip for others, and thereby adjust the temperature right? Some temperature dependant magnetic effect that opens/closes the heating circuit.

Update: http://imgur.com/a/p29cK
Just a small album containing pictures and descriptions of some small parts that have been possible to do while waiting for components and a new soldering iron.

Looking good!
In my original plan (before either sudomod or my intent to read real cartridges) i was going to stealth a USB stick in a hollowed out cart

Soldering iron arrived! Works like a charm but could use a new tip.

Still waiting for that damn screen to arrive!
Looking good. If you look aroun d on the forums, I believe someone used magnets on their battery door. Worth looking into.

Thanks! Have been thinking about using magnets. But they could always be added to it later, if everything else isn't sufficient at holding it together.

Right now I'm instead considering two velcro-straps that can meet behind the battery to be attached together from the battery-latch. It is hard to explain. If I end up doing it - you'll see it explained in pictures ;)

in currently having issue with my 620 x 480 screen

with helders aio board and a pi3 the screen is shoulding warning signs (on screen) of low voltage and also temperature

ive wired everything to the aio boards power strip but im not sure is a solution to my problem would be to solder the screen and possibly the pi3 directly to the power boost.

i shall report back if i find a solution :)

It really shouldn't cause any problems to use to AIO-powerstrip to distribute power from the Powerboost to the consumer-parts. What is the voltage?

In my GBZ, I have the Pi and Helder AIO connected to the powerboost. Then the screen draws power from the AIO power strip. I have no issues with low power warnings. The voltage is steadily measured at 5.15V. You propably have a short between PCBs, wires or something like that, that draws a lot of current and thereby decrease the voltage.

Voltage drops is normally caused by:
  • Too high resistance in wires with big current draw, (the voltage drop due to resistance is V=R*I: Ohm's law)
  • Low battery charge,
  • To big current draws (shorts), ie. the powerboost cannot supply enough power to maintain the power.
---------
I have received the screen and will be working on the GBZ this night - hopefully!

im not sure why i get the warnings from the screen. these are screen warnings, i've tried it direct from the power boost and still the same

did you manage to trim down the pi3 to make it smaller?
