With the recent Pokemon GO craze on mobile, it got me interested in playing the old pokemon games again, so I'm playing Pokemon Leaf Green for GBA on my GBZ.

Also played a bit of Phantasy Star for Genesis, I plan to continue that after Pokemon.

If using the original battery Bay, why not use NiMH batteries? They're cheaper, and maybe safer?

I don't really know the difference between lipo and NiMH.

I was wondering why map the gameboy controller in keyboard layout to letter keys like wasd q z and so on and not use arrow keys, enter key, etc. I found that I cannot navigate the "Dos" style menus without plugging in a keyboard and I have to be careful about which menu I choose. You get no sound at all? You have the low pass filter installed and are connected to the correct pins?

Check all your connections, and try first without hooking up your amp, just the headphones to the filter, which then goes to the pi.
