tbh i havent seen an electronics guide, ive only seen the wiki and other projects people have done so i havent seen that screenshot. i have just obviosly got things mixed up in my head about the mode switch.

hopfully someone here will be able to help. i am in desperaate need of decent dmg lcd, these things are like rocking horse s##t i cant find anything anywhere, anyways if the screen has got vertical lines missing i can deal with that if its got horizontal lines the screens pretty much scrap

as camble suggested, clean it up. from the pic the GND pad looks like it is gone so you will need to scrape away the solder mask indicated in the pic below (be careful and make sure you stay away from that resistor), you can use a small flat blade screw driver to gently scrape and when you see some ...

bit of scraping to area above pp1 and negative to usb shield mount post, job done
