Re: wifi "unable to connect"
Sounds like maybe you haven't selected the correct encryption setting. Assuming you have typed in the network name and password correctly of course, as they're case sensitive.

Re: Tips for Fixing/Preventing Corrupt SD Cards in Retropie?
Never had any issue with any micro sd card I've used for retropie, whether that has been via the pi itself, in an sd card reader, etc. Your failure rate sounds very high. Always make sure you shut down the pi properly. In the case of the pi zero, wait for the light to end it's flashing sequence befo...

Re: Do I actually need a usb hub?
Yes it goes to a command line. Some people run Raspbian as well as Retropie on their cards, so a mouse is useful there. Notepad is crap for editing files, I suggest Wordpad instead. And yes, the screen resolution makes it hard to read anything unless you change the text size. Yet more reasons I pref...

Re: Do I actually need a usb hub?
If you edit everything via the sd card in a card reader in a pc then no. If you want to edit files on the pi you need keyboard/mouse combo which you can get away with not using a hub for by using an otg cable. If you want to edit via a pc over ssh you need a wifi dongle, if you don't use a hub you w...

Re: Custom/Aftermarket Build Guide Part 2
If you haven't ever used more than 12v, then your wiring is probably just wrong. And the information showing on the Amazon page you showed is accurate as far as I can see. It's just the info on the actual box that's inaccurate.

Re: Custom/Aftermarket Build Guide Part 2
I have the same screen and the box shows the same info as you say but the box is generic and could contain multiple models of these car parking monitors. The one you have is 12v max. It's also the 320x240 model not 480x272 as it says on the top of the box. The picture on the top shows a totally diff...

I think if I remember rightly I used the Waveshare drivers and followed 'Senkun's information here:

Re: Recommended tip for Weller EC-3000?
Lead based solder is certainly the way to go, with a flux core, it flows nicely. I prefer the thinner stuff as it means you can use it for smaller parts, but it's always handy to have some thicker solder too for power connections, etc. If your soldering iron can take replaceable tips then you can ju...
