Re: Collecting information on alternative displays - please contribute

@RogerX

The screens I've seen that look similar to the one you've found were 88mm wide which meant they wouldn't fit in a gameboy housing. Please let us know if yours fits though as that may be a good find.

Re: Collecting information on alternative displays - please contribute

@mike_louisxvi I don't have your screen but most have 2 video channels and if you connect both at once it does what you've shown in your animated image, a conflicting signal. Try removing the white connector (so just power and yellow are connected). If no luck, plug the white back in and unplug the ...

You can just use a simple push switch to make a very easy and safe shutdown operation. Info here:

Re: Bw screen version 7 issue.

That's just how composite is at that resolution. You can improve it a bit by increasing text sizes for the command line and RetroPie fonts. There's a guide on the forum somewhere.

It requires a video signal to work.

Re: [WIP] Project RetroBoy; a custom CAD drawn Gameboy case

Ok cheers for the reply. I don't have a 3d printer that would do that very well, mine even struggles with normal PLA. :D But then I guess most home 3D printers require a lot of tinkering to get good results. Maybe pro ones are much better. I'd love a proper solid wood one as I have some lovely walnu...

Re: [WIP] Project RetroBoy; a custom CAD drawn Gameboy case

Have you decided on the materials to make your case out of now, once you've finished designing it? I've been thinking about making a shell for one myself out of wood using a CNC I'm currently building. Was going to do a 3d printed one but the finish just wouldn't be good enough for my liking. Will m...

Re: (Help) Screen flicker with colors missing.

Did you have it hooked up directly to the pi? You can't have too much plugged in via the pi as it can struggle that way. Which screen do you have? Maybe you need to do a voltage mod.

I think most these composite screens running at 5v use roughly 500ma or so.

Re: (Help) Screen flicker with colors missing.

Sounds like a power issue, probably not getting enough juice.
