Re: Did I bust my cartridge reader?

Update - I bought a new cartridge reader, used 30 gauge wires to keep them from smashing into each other and was very careful when rewiring everything back up, and now we're back in business! I think the old reader was just too damaged.

Re: Did I bust my cartridge reader?

Mine works when I insert the cart, while only pressing the cart in from the side of the power switch. Once it doesn't move, I don't go to the other side of the cart to make sure it's all the way pressed in. I just leave it. And it works. Thanks for the suggestion! This sounds a little finnicky thou...

Re: Using a keyboard - Helder's AIO board GBZ

Go to my Support Thread in my signature for a short list of known working keyboards. Basically most logitech keyboards works no problem and I have also heard that Retropie 4.1 has some issues with keybaords and buttons on the controller but Retropie 4.01 works fine.
Thanks, I'll try this tomorrow!

Using a keyboard - Helder's AIO board GBZ

Hi there, I'm attempting to use a keyboard on my GBZ, but retropie is only recognizing the AIO button controls, and isnt recognizing any keyboard inputs. I even tried booting my sd card in another pi 0 hooked up to a USB hub, but it won't recognize the keyboard there either. It only seems to recogni...

Did I bust my cartridge reader?

I had my project 'mostly' up and running, but I had to reopen it to fix the external usb port, which was shorting. The good news is I fixed the usb, but the bad news is some of the wires from the cartridge reader came undone, and I had to resolder them. Long story short, during this adventure one of...

Re: Helder AIO board - speaker works only when connected to speaker + pad

The guide calls for 10 ohm resistors not 10k, big difference in resistance. You may have very well found your problem. I believe I misread the guide, or thought I saw someone mention 10k ohm somewhere else. So I looked and actually Helder mentioned in the diagram wiring thread "Come on guys pay att...

Re: Helder AIO board - speaker works only when connected to speaker + pad

Oh! I think thats the problem!

I just used my lowest resistance resistor (150 ohm) and I was able to hear just a bit of sound coming from the speaker. I guess I need to go get like a 10 ohm set and that will fix the problem!

Re: Helder AIO board - speaker works only when connected to speaker + pad

Next update (just documenting my debugging here): I realized that the left in and left out only get connnectivity beeps with ground when the positive wire of the speaker is soldered into the 'speaker +' pad, as is suggested in Helder's troubleshooting. When I solder it back into i...

Re: Helder AIO board - speaker works only when connected to speaker + pad

Now, when I connect either of the left wires (in or out, the yellows) to ground i get a connectivity beep. However when i connect either right wire (the greens) to ground I get nothing. Not sure if thats normal or not. Update: I tried connectivity with an un-wired jack, and I didn't get the whole y...

Re: Helder AIO board - speaker works only when connected to speaker + pad

Use a multimeter to double check the pin outs. You should have continuity between left in and left out and then also with right in and right out when headphone is not plugged in. The other will be ground. I get continuity when connecting right in and out (green wires), and then when I connect left ...
