Re: Action Buttons Binding - Smoothing Button Wells?

Also if you take your time and file down the inner square piece so it's as smooth as possible, as well as the corners of the outer part of the button wells, you can get it nice and smooth with no catching - I've done several this way. It can take some patience but it's worth it! I get what you're s...

Re: Safe shutdown?

I'm definitely game, depending on the price. (Then again, I just totaled up my build and it was $132  )

I had mine die a slow, screen fading death on me yesterday when the battery got low. :)

I have to think a board like this would be good for lots of handheld builds.

I was thinking of putting something in the well (like you recommended) to prevent it from spinning but decided that I will deal with it instead of opening it for the 101 time.
Yeah, I'm going to live with it. This thing is just a novelty, and a very cool one at that.

Re: Action Buttons Binding - Smoothing Button Wells?

It's not an issue with the buttons rubbing up against the well, it's an issue with the button rotating in the well causing the button to not return home properly. I'm experiencing this only with my Y button using OEM DS Lite buttons. That's an issue too, I noticed it with the B button on games wher...

Re: Protecting the outside of the tin

I just put mine in my pocket and it seems to be fine. Then again, I've only had it done since Sunday night. ;)

Action Buttons Binding - Smoothing Button Wells?

When playing a game where you have to roll your thumb from one button to another (Mark Kart where you roll from B to A to fire a shell while still having your "foot on the gas") I'm noticing that A is binding. It seems to be due to the button binding on the layers of the 3D print when you don't push...

Re: obsidianspider's mintyPi

After a few days of playing I noticed my Start button was sticking a bit, so I took things apart and used a grinding stone to make the hole slightly larger. Even though there was a bit of a gap around the button I still felt it sticking. To resolve the issue I slightly loosened the screw holding the...

All of the troubleshooting took about 6 hours.
That's pretty close to my experience as well. The lid on mine doesn't close *perfectly* but as my dad says,"If you don't look at it, you won't see it."

Re: obsidianspider's mintyPi

Speaking of long term usage, when you close the lid on one of these the ribbon cable gets a pretty hard kink in it. I wonder how long it will hold up or where to get another one when it breaks. I also see that it tends to rub the screen a bit when closed. Most of the time I have a feeling this will ...

Re: obsidianspider's mintyPi

Sometimes I think like that too. Then I go on eBay and buy more parts. ;)
