[NEED HELP] Smoke from wires / screen
So I have got my screen. It was apperently a BW 3.5 version 2 screen according to the wiki. I tried connecting it to my pi, and the wire becomes very hot and it even starts to smoke after a few seconds. Obviously the screen isn't working either. Generally speaking there are 2 types of wire: Stranded and Solid. Most of the time you want stranded, it's more flexible and is far less likely to break off at the solder point.
