I designed my bracket to be hot glued down. It is sandwiched between kites board and the front half of the shell. If you don't glue it down it will put a lot of pressure on kites board ...

I have probably didn't read this before (my fault). I will then glue the bracket down.

Did you glue the bracket down to the front shell? Hot glue ?
No, I have only one small hot glue point at the to of the case (but it will probably also work without).

Re: Mike's GBZ with Kite's SAIO and HoolyHoo's Bracket

One more tip, I have coloured the border of the display cutout black, this looks much better with the screen protector attached.

Re: Mike's GBZ with Kite's SAIO and HoolyHoo's Bracket

Some new pictures! The front half is now finished and anything is tested together with the backboard. Everything is working and the rest of the build will be a pleasure. On the pictures you can see how I have mounted the LED's and you can see how perfect Kite's SAIO and HoolyHoo's bracket fit (I hav...

Re: Mike's GBZ with Kite's SAIO and HoolyHoo's Bracket

As promised I started the second build and I will make here a little photo documentation of some steps. First I prepared the front, made the bracket and drilled the holes (this time I did not fail with LED holes) IMG_8221T.jpg IMG_8238T.jpg I found some low profile switches and made a 3d printed bas...

Re: HoolyHoo's GBZ with Kite's SAIO

The slide length is a little shorter but ok. You can see the gap on the picture. If you switch it the gap on the other side will be the same. If have also ordered the switches from the eBay link but they need really long to arrive. This switch has also the advantage that the ends are closed. Good id...

Re: HoolyHoo's GBZ with Kite's SAIO

thats a really nice build! From where did you get this low profile switch? Thanks! The part number for the switch is SK-22H07. They are sold in bulk. Not sure you'll be able to by them individually but if you find somewhere, please post a link. I was lucky to get a few from another forum member who...
