Thanks i totally missed the non charging!! I've a load of TP4056 boards so could use one of those hooked up directly to charge the battery maybe, bummer to need a second board though.

Saw pimonori have something called Zero LiPo with enable pin and lower battery detection so you can shutdown the pi gracefully. A bit cheaper than the Powerboost 1000c in the UK at least.
