look at the picture you posted.
the two pins that are "on top" are connected as well as the two bottoms ones.

You can't edit it from winSCP because you logged in with the user 'pi' , which doesn't have permissions to edit that file! When you SSH (using PuTTY) you have to 'sudo <edit>' the file.. as far as i'm aware you can't sudo in winscp ;) take the SD out and put it in your PC, you can edit it on the fa...

everything is smooth. if you experience any issues i suspect it is caused by a faulty rom file. there are generally no lags soundwise or of any other kind at all (my experience so far, using pi zero 1.3 with retropie 4.1)
