Re: GIJoe4500's First Build

Had to go into the config text file and flip the screen, but it works. And everything fits. Have a few things to work out, but nothing major. Time to start gluing everything into place.

Re: GIJoe4500's First Build

Thanks! Looks really clean. How do you plan on keeping the case shut as the screen covers all 4 top mounting posts? I have no clue yet. May design and machine a new mount to attach to the case. No 3D printer, but I have access to a couple CNC milling machines. I have the 3D printed "kit" that is so...

Re: GIJoe4500's First Build

I have quickly learned my soldering skills leave much to be desired. But, I bought my iron specifically for this project. Don't exactly have experience in the matter. Either way, I have the screen and Pi power attached to the AIO. Jumped from the powerboost over to the AIO and had a successful test....

Re: GIJoe4500's First Build

I'm working with the same screen, no AIO though. Can you give some tips on the HDMI to Mini HDMI connector you have? Is that manually soldered? How did you strip? I bought a bendy swivel adapter thing off Amazon, then just broke off all the plastic. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZU1IW6/ref=...

Everything actually fits pretty nicely! I was presently surprised. I'm hoping that all of my case modifications are done, aside from the L+R button holes.

That definitely helped! Both of those in that corner are 5v, but in the other bank of connectors, there was a ground. Rigged up some temp wiring just to make sure the screen would power on, and I had success! That's one more thing taken care of.

Re: GIJoe4500's First Build

I'm an idiot. I can't just power to the switch. Because the switch only works 1 side of the system.

Re: GIJoe4500's First Build

After some quick looking after posting my last reply, it looks like the mini-USB would be a pain to remove. But, there is a power switch right next to the USB that looks easier to remove. And since there will be master power for the whole GameBoy, it shouldn't need its own power switch.

Re: GIJoe4500's First Build

Haven't posted in a while, but over the last two days, I have been making a little progress on my Gameboy Zero. Figured out a way to cram my screen and Pi Zero in the case, while still being able to use HDMI for video output. Battery compartment will be able to remain unchopped. The sheet metal piec...

Re: Talk about show off. Cleanest build ( show boat)

Looks like a custom board. I'm more interested in the screen he's used - looks like it was this: https://world.taobao.com/item/541924387563.htm?spm=a312a.7700714.0.0.BhLrf7#detail - turns out ordering one cost less than £15 so I've placed an order, will see if its any good. I have that kedei screen...
