Setting up the electronics was only part of the fun....I had a blast planning the wooden cabinet, cutting and assembling it, spraying it and finding decals i liked. I love the electro...

Re: Hardware for a bartop arcade

the size of the mdf is conditioned by the fact that you want to put t-molding or not. there are only two widths it seems to me. but if you do not put (like me) you can take the thickness you want, I put 10 mm on the sides and 15 mm for the control panel and the rest. Ahh I didn't know what t-moldin...

I just have to choose the right colors ;)

Nice colours that ones. One question, is it important the wide of the MDF? I've heard for the sides at least 10mm is needed.

I did the test with B & O speakers 75 Watts (45 Watts RMS) and it works very well.
;) and which size your screen is? it's hard to find a monitor beyond the 20" in an aspect ratio of 4:3

Re: Hardware for a bartop arcade

Does the amplifier need to have the same or more power that the speakers? I mean if the speakers has a RMS power of 40 watts, Does the amplifier need 40 watts minimum?

Re: Hardware for a bartop arcade

I guess you'll be using a vga 4: 3 monitor as your screen. in this case the ideal is to take the sound at the adapter hdmi / vga (with an amp of course) something like this https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B01L1Q27KC/ref=asc_df_B01L1Q27KC48910571/?tag= googshopfr-21 & creative = 22722 & creativeASIN = B01L...

The pi3 does not amplify sound ! Of course you’ll need an amp. The internal « amplifier » is just enough for headphone output.
Of course, you can plug self powered speakers and self amplified and have amplified sound lol
Perfect, I have a pair of speakers stranded somewhere in my room xd
